We invite the community to join us at this FREE, family-friendly event in honor of the courageous men and women of our local first responder departments.

The MAAC Foundation is transforming the landscape of First Responder training across Northwest Indiana, the state, and the country. With a comprehensive, inclusive campus, we provide access for all First Responders - EMT personnel, firefighters, law enforcement officers, and K9 officers - to train at our state-of-the-art facility at no cost. After the festivities, guests are encouraged to enjoy dinner at a downtown restaurant. Present a receipt from a downtown business at the ice rink from 7 - 10 pm for a special of $10 admission and skate rental to support Small Business Saturday.

Families can drive through the gleaming stationary display of emergency vehicles, with Big Santa greeting you as you enter Foundation Meadows Park. Kids of all ages can experience the joy of giving while enjoying seeing Santa, lights, treats and more!

The Recycling and Waste Reduction District of Porter County will host its 16th annual Earth Day celebration from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at the Porter County Expo Center. Valparaiso Baptist Church will host their 3rd Annual Community-Wide Fall Festival at Sunset Hill Farm on October 8th from 1:30-5:30 PM. This free event is open to the public and will include family-friendly fun, food, and special entertainment.
Suites, the Das’ Gallery boasts an ideal space for promoting student artwork. Currently, the gallery is displaying pieces created by five Valparaiso University undergraduates. Ashley Vernon, senior Art major and curator of the exhibit, sought to create an experience exploring the theme Be for Real: An Exploration of Reality. Together with the artists, she crafted an exhibit examining the realities of life, death, and nature. The public is welcome to visit the gallery August 21st through Thanksgiving Day. An official reception celebrating the artists and their work will be held at the Das’ Gallery, Thursday, September 28th, 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm.

Shows will be Friday, July 7, and Saturday, July 8, beginning at dusk (approximately 8:30 pm). It will be a free event for the public. No tickets are required and is open seating. The public is encouraged to arrive early to check out food trucks and other vendors at the park which will be set up by 6:00 pm.
