2024 Dunes Lit Fest

The Valparaiso University education department is partnering with the Porter County Public Library System for the second year to host Dunes LitFest on Friday, May 3, 2024 from 4–6 p.m. This year’s celebration of reading, writing and the creative process will take place at Central Park Plaza, home to the Northwest Health Amphitheater.
“LitFest is a great opportunity for families to meet award-winning authors and really get an appreciation for the wonderful, wide world of children’s literature,” Emma Kelley, director of school and community partnerships at Valparaiso University said. “We’re excited to bring this to the community and inspire more young people to read, write and draw!”
This year’s featured guests include children’s book authors Eric Rohmann, Cozbi A. Cabrera, John David Anderson, and will close out with an interactive musical performance by artist Jim Dague, known musically as ScribbleJim.
This year, Dunes LitFest is also partnering with The Press bookstore in downtown Valpo, who will exhibit and sell books by the event’s featured authors, who will be available to sign copies. This year’s LitFest will also include a variety of vendors and resource organizations that can help spread the love of reading and writing to northwest Indiana youths.
