Indiana Jewish Historical Society Presents Guest Speaker: Robert A. Langer

Robert Langer esq. will be the guest speaker at the Porter County Library’s Jewish Heritage Month talk presented by the Indiana Jewish Historical Society on Memorial Day weekend, Sunday May 26th at 2 PM Central Time. Free and open to the public with police security in house.

Rob a young lawyer of Valparaiso will share vignettes of three generations of his family living in the heart of Porter County including many of his own. His paternal grandfather was the proprietor of Fetlas, a landmark retailer in Valparaiso. Robert’s family also our the family of attorneys whose offices make up the southside of the Valparaiso Court House Square, Langer & Langer.

This is the third annual celebration of Jewish Heritage Month, a joint production of the Indiana Jewish Historical Society and the Porter County Library. Two showcases parade vignettes of the Jewish experience in Valparaiso and Porter County with displays in the second-floor lobby of the library on Jefferson Street.

The Indiana Jewish Historical Society was founded in 1972 with a mission to collect, preserve, promote and publish on the centuries of the Jewish experience in Indiana. The IJHS has relations with the American Jewish Archives in Cincinnati, and the Indiana Historical Society in Indianapolis, holding thousands of materials collected by the IJHS.
