Our Year In Review – 2016

by

WHAT. A. YEAR! 2016 is winding down, and as we prepare to close the book on this past year and look forward to an even better 2017, we want to take a few moments to look back at some of our favorite moments and relive some of the unforgettable memories that helped make this year the biggest and best we’ve ever had.

Where do we begin when it comes to recapping 2016? In total, we hosted more than 90 days of events for everyone in the community and beyond to come enjoy. Returning favorites such as the Popcorn Festival and the Valparaiso Market gave everyone something to look forward to, while new events like The Pop-Up: A Valparaiso Art Experience helped to make our city even more vibrant and inviting.

But we do more than plan events throughout the city – many of which are free to all to enjoy. VE is also in charge of creating & changing the banners that hang from all the lampposts and poles that decorate the Downtown area. In addition, we also help pipe in music into the speakers throughout the city.

A few images to look back on this year:

HOLLY DAYS:

Maybe you even noticed the utility boxes downtown? Over the summer, we partnered with local artists to showcase their artwork to the community in a very unique way- by wrapping the utility boxes with their work! Something that was once dull and utilitarian is now a work of art!

Of course, no one can do all of this alone. It takes a million things to do what we do, and we couldn’t be more thankful for the support from all of our sponsors, members, and people of the community who make what we do possible.
